This week was super fun!
On Monday we went to Discover Archeology. We learned about the bones of people and animals, including a Bison. We learned how people used to hunt and we got to touch real bones and a real spear, it was super cool!
In our writing journals this week, we wrote about our weekends and our favourite birthday.
We reviewed the letter sounds M and S this week. We practiced listening to words to find if the M or S sound was at the beginning or the end of words. We also practiced printing these letters and our names.
In math, we read the story "10 Black Dots" and we practiced making 10 with double sided counters.
We also read "Moria's birthday" then we created our own birthday graph to record our classes's birthdays. The month with the most birthdays is July. We have 5 people in our class with July birthdays. We also practiced "subitizing" and played a game called "Race to the Top"
We also put all our items into our time capsules. They are now full in the classroom and we won't be opening them until the end of the year!
We talked about always trying, we don't say we can't, we say we can try. After reading Pete the Cat we traced our shoes and wrote out a goal for ourselves.
Today we started buddy reading and this week in read to self we increased our reading stamina to 10 minutes. This week, we also started our community jobs in the classroom to help keep our classroom clean.
In Gym, we learned about dodging, hopping with two feet and one foot.
In Music, we learned about the blues and learned about a blues guitarist that had 6 fingers!!
