September 20th

Hi Parents!

This week we continued our review of letters and talked about the letters B and T. We listened to words to find whether the sounds came at the beginning or the end of the word. We also practiced printing these letters.

In math, we starting learning about patterns, we looked for patterns around the room and we used different materials to make our very own patterns.  We also practiced our number sense by playing two card games: Higher or Lower and Go Fish.

We learned about "Give me 5" listening and reviewed the Zones of Regulation. We also talked about strategies that we can use to help us get back to the green zone when we are feeling in the blue, yellow or red zone.

We read the story "Decibella" and learned about the different voices ( whisper voice, 6 inch voice, table talk voice, strong speaker voice and outdoor voice). We learned when it is appropriate to use each voice.

In writing, we wrote about our weekend and we also had free write to write about whatever we want.

We also met with our grade 2 buddies again and they taught us a really fun math game called Barn and House.

It was a  great week!
